. perfection out there. temperatures in the 70s as they take on the rangers one more time hoping to clench that playoff spot. we're so excited about the potential of a bay brij series. 85 degrees in san jose today. 82 in freemont. 78 in san francisco. 77 in santa cruz. this is the last day of the 90s. we're done with the triple digits. tomorrow, we trade the 90s in for the low 80s. then the 70s return. we're talking about mid to low 70s saturday through monday. even getting our first showers of the season sunday into monday. the best chance is north of the golden gate bridge. overall, we're talking about drizzle, cloudy condition, feeling like winter, after we just got through with this strong taste of summer. some of the hottest temperatures of the year. hope you didn't have to get stuck out there too long in your car yesterday. >> i was enjoying driving the car because it was one of the cooler spots. cranked up the a.c. as well. we're looking to the northbound direction. the volume really kicking in. first burst just before 6:00. we'll look at the map and see how that affects your drive

rangers and they have one game to go. the division title is up for grabs in the last game of the regular season. nbc bay area's christie smith is live at the coliseum where a sellout crowd is gathering for the first pitch. >> reporter: you are hearing a lot of "let's go oakland." we are 90 minutes from game town. everyone hoping for the sweep. people were lined up at the gate at 8:00 trying to get in. tickets for today's game are gone. they are available for other games. this morning, fans feeling great about the a's team heading into the final game with the rangers. the a's needed a win to grab that first playoff berth since 2006. they did that monday. it will hold more value because of the addition of the second wild card. this excitement has the coliseum absolutely jam packed. after last night's win, 10,000 tickets sold immediately for today's game. the first fan in line that i spoke with couldn't score one, but he's not giving up. >> not for today's game, but the division. that's what we're here for this morning. i'll be here in spirit. >> reporter: what will you do? >> get tickets o

is everywhere and guys are yelling at the top of their lungs. after their 4-3 win against the texas rangers, you're absolutely right. they're going back to the postseason for the first time since 2006. how do you celebrate? how about putting a pie in your manager's face? >> i can't even explain it right now. we got a lot of guys here in these uniforms. these guys that grew up here, jonny gomes, pretty amazing. one thing. i've won the world series in arizona and other playoffs. it is nothing like this. >> i don't think anybody outside of this team thought we would be where we are today. and we just, the critics came a long way down the road. to do it with the team we've had is a great feeling. unbelievable. >> the celebration is great but one thing is sure for the green and gold. they don't want to celebrate too much. with this victory they're now only a game behind the first place texas rangers. and they still have two regular season games remaining which means the a's could win the a.l. west outright and forget about that whole wild card talk. we'll see how this whole thing develops. there are
